What Am I Using?
About What Am I Using?
What Am I Using? started with a simple question about your browser. It is growing into a collection of useful tools for troubleshooting, creating and practising.
Start with your browser and device
The main checker helps you identify your web browser, operating system and connection details. You can review, copy or download a timestamped report for a trusted support contact. The guides explain common questions about Windows, browsers, internet connections and VPNs.
A useful link for your support team
We actively encourage IT helpdesks, technical support teams and anyone helping friends or relatives to share www.whatamiusing.com. Add the link to your support emails, reply templates or help centre so people can provide their browser and device details without installing an app or creating an account.
Ask the person to open the checker in the browser where the problem happens, choose Copy support details, review the report and paste it into their support ticket or email. Their public IP and network details are optional. The report is not sent to you automatically. See which details help with technical support.
A growing collection of handy tools
The same site also includes a QR generator, domain and DNS lookup, timestamp converter, text encoders, a file hash generator, a scrambler and random number picks. The beep-test timer and cube solver extend that collection beyond technical support.
Open More tools at the top of any page, or browse the list in the footer. Each tool has its own page, helpful explanations and the same straightforward controls. The FAQ covers the whole collection in categories.
Useful without an account
The tools are free to use. Most calculations happen on your device, including QR contents, uploaded logos and hash files. Public domain queries need outside information and are clearly explained on that page. See our privacy notice for the details.
One connected tool network
These utilities are part of one collection. They currently live on What Am I Using?; an individual tool may gain its own domain in future while remaining connected to the wider network. The aim is to make genuinely useful tools that are easy to find again, share and recommend.
How the site is funded
Clearly labelled affiliate links may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. Display advertising may also help fund the collection when enabled. The tools remain available without making a purchase.
