What this browser test checks
The test writes and removes a temporary first-party cookie and temporary browser-storage values. It also checks whether modern browser features are available and asks the browser for permission states where supported. It never reads your saved passwords or other websites’ cookies.
Blocked does not always mean broken
Private browsing, privacy extensions, device policies and deliberate permission choices can restrict features. A blocked camera is often the setting you intended. Some browsers cannot report a permission state, so “cannot determine” is a useful result rather than a failure.
Why another site can behave differently
Permissions are normally scoped to the website. A site embedded in a frame can have additional restrictions. This check cannot inspect your Teams or Zoom account, another site’s storage, or a work security policy.
Testing a real device
If you want to see a picture or microphone level, open the webcam and microphone checker. It requests permission only when you start a check, and processes the preview on your device.
What should I send to support?
Copy the results, mention the affected website and exact error, and include a controlled comparison if another browser works. The guided troubleshooting tool can help choose the next check. Read the cookie and sign-in guide before clearing site data.
