How does the text scrambler work?

Paste a sentence and the tool shuffles letters inside each word. It preserves the first and last letters, along with punctuation and whitespace. Short words remain unchanged because there is little or nothing useful to shuffle inside them.

What can I use scrambled text for?

Try it as a light-hearted reading challenge, a classroom demonstration or a puzzle for friends. Copy the result or download it as text, then use the output as input if you want to experiment with another pass.

Does this prove we only read the first and last letters?

No. Recognising a scrambled sentence can depend on familiar words, context and the amount of disruption. It is an entertaining demonstration, rather than evidence that word order or spelling never matters. Some sentences will be much harder to read than others.

Is scrambling a way to protect private text?

No. A person can often reconstruct the words, and this tool is not encryption. It keeps word boundaries and many letters visible. For simple data conversion, try the Base64 tool, which is also encoding rather than encryption.
