What Am I Using?

Free website inspector

Check whether a website responds from our checker, then explore its HTTP response, DNS, HTTPS certificate and visible technology.

One public page, checked on request. The address is sent to our server; page scripts are never run. How website checks use data.

Enter a public page without query parameters. Do not enter private, password-protected or confidential links.

The two tools share one allowance, resetting at midnight UTC. Failed attempts can use a check. Shared networks share the allowance; cached reports do not use a fresh check. A site-wide limit also protects this free service.

What can a website inspector find out?

A public website exposes useful details before you sign in: its HTTP response, DNS addresses, HTTPS certificate and the HTML it serves. This free website inspector brings those facts together with clues about its content management system, framework or caching network. Nothing is installed on the website being checked.

Can I see where a website is hosted?

Public DNS can point to a hosting service, CDN or reverse proxy. A CloudFront or Cloudflare address often belongs to an edge server rather than the website’s origin. We show the addresses and visible network clues, without pretending to locate a hidden server. Use the domain and DNS lookup for registration details and individual DNS record types.

Is this website up, or is it just me?

The report prominently shows whether the page responded to our check, with the HTTP status, check time and the fact that this is one checking location. Cached snapshots are labelled. Choose Check again now for a fresh attempt within the daily allowance; a failed or restricted request is explained without declaring the site down for everyone.

Can this tell me if a website is down?

The response tells you what our checker could reach at that moment. An error may be caused by a firewall, bot protection, a time limit or the network path from our server. It is not proof that a website is down for everyone. If a site works elsewhere but not on your device, try our website-not-loading guide.

How does website technology detection work?

Some platforms leave recognisable asset URLs, generator tags or response headers. We show the evidence beside a detected technology. We do not run scripts, log in, probe hidden administration pages or identify every component. A missing clue means unknown, rather than proof that a technology is absent.

Can I check a competitor’s website?

You can inspect an ordinary public page using this tool’s bounded checks. Respect the owner’s terms and crawl rules. We honour applicable robots.txt instructions and stop if those instructions cannot be checked reliably. We do not bypass access controls or scrape Google search results. Try the SEO site scanner for the same page’s title, description and practical on-page checks.
