Check your IP with a VPN
A quick comparison can show whether a VPN changes the public address this website sees.
Compare the two connections
- Follow any work or school rules before changing your VPN connection.
- With the VPN disconnected, open the IP checker and note the address.
- Connect your VPN and wait for it to report a connected state.
- Refresh the checker and compare the address.
What a changed IP tells you
A different address shows that this particular request reached us from a different source. That is consistent with traffic travelling through a VPN exit server. It is useful evidence, not proof that every app or every kind of traffic is covered.
If the address stays the same
Check whether the VPN has actually connected and whether split tunnelling excludes your browser. Your VPN provider’s troubleshooting instructions are the best place to investigate the specific setup.
This is not a full leak test
The checker does not separately test DNS, WebRTC or both IPv4 and IPv6. It cannot certify the security of your VPN. Use appropriate specialised tests and your provider’s guidance for those questions.
